California Student Travel Itinerary | Educational Tour of Silicone Valley and San Francisco

DAY 1

ARRIVAL DAY Arrive in San Francisco. You will be transported to your hotel to check-in. Have a short overview tour, dinner, and return to your hotel.

DAY 2

SILICON VALLEY In the morning, visit the Computer History Museum in Mountain View. The CHM provides a dynamic and interactive experience that brings to life the incredible advancements in computing over the years.

Catch a glimpse of some of the latest technologies in some of the few startup incubators and innovation centers. Visit Google Headquarters (GooglePlex) and spend time in the visitors center learning about Google’s history through interactive exhibits.

Take a short drive to Stanford University for a guided tour. Walk around the campus, see the Stanford Memorial Church, explore the Rodin Sculpture Garden, and have lunch at one of the popular, local restaurants.

Stop at the META Headquarters to explore the campus and take pictures in front of the Meta sign.

Have dinner before returning to your hotel.

DAY 3

SAN JOSE Travel to San Jose and visit the Tech Museum of Innovation (The Tech). Engage with exhibits that cover a wide range of topics, from robotics and artificial intelligence to sustainable energy and biotechnology.

Later in the afternoon, watch an IMAX show at the Dome Theater.

Continue by bus as you drive around and see other major tech company headquarters such as Adobe, Cisco, and eBay. Most places do not allow any entrance.

DAY 4

SANTA CLARA Have a tour of the Intel Museum.

Then, spend the morning shopping at the Westfield Valley Fair Shopping Mall in Santa Clara.

Stroll around downtown San Jose and grab lunch. Continue to Cupertino and take pictures of the impressive Apple Headquarters (ApplePark). You can’t enter the main building but can step inside the visitor’s Center.

Spend time wandering around and shopping in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood. You can still see remnants of the 1960s hippie rebel movement. See the colorful Victorian houses, and eclectic shops, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.

Have dinner and return to your hotel.

DAY 5

ALCATRAZ Enjoy a scenic ferry ride to the infamous Alcatraz Island (The Rock). Have a guided tour of Alcatraz, including the cell house, solitary confinement, library, hospital, and recreation area. Famous inmates include gangsters, Al Capone, and George “Machine Gun” Kelly

Upon your return, spend time touring around Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39. See the sea lions and spend the afternoon strolling along the Embarcadero.

Have dinner and return to your hotel

DAY 6

DEPARTURE DAY Continue touring San Francisco in the morning. See Lombard Street the “Crookedest Street in the World”, and do some last-minute shopping as time allows.
