Panama Student Travel Itinerary | Educational Tour of Culture, Rainforest & Canal


Day 1

Meet at school for your transfer to the airport for your flight to Panama!


Upon arrival, meet your tour manager and transfer to your hotel. Settle in and enjoy a local welcome dinner. Explore the area with your guide if time allows.


Day 2

Start your morning with a guided tour of the Panama Canal at the Miraflores Locks Visitors Center. Watch ships pass through this world-famous engineering marvel.


In the afternoon, explore Casco Viejo, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit key landmarks such as the Panama Canal Museum, the Presidential Palace, and the Cathedral.


Enjoy dinner and return to your hotel for the night.


Day 3

Travel by canoe upriver to the Embera Indigenous Village. Experience a warm welcome with music, learn about the villagers’ culture and traditions, and enjoy a traditional lunch.


Spend time exploring the village before watching a final Shamanic music and dance performance. Return to Panama City by boat.


Day 4

Depart early for Gamboa Rainforest. Take a guided nature walk and visit the Sloth Sanctuary, Butterfly Garden, and Frog Exhibit.


Hop aboard a rainforest aerial tram through the canopy for a chance to spot monkeys, sloths, and tropical birds. Climb the observation tower for panoramic views of the Chagres River, Gatun Lake, and local indigenous communities.


Finish the day with a boat tour on the Panama Canal, spotting wildlife and learning about the region’s ecology and history. Return to Panama City for dinner and rest.


Day 5

Visit Panama Viejo, the ruins of the original Panama City and a UNESCO archaeological site. See historic remnants like convents, the cathedral tower, and the iconic flat arch.


Spend the afternoon enjoying free time to explore or relax in Panama City.


Day 6

Take a fast ferry to Taboga Island, known as the "Island of Flowers." Explore its historical landmarks like Iglesia de San Pedro and Las Bovedas, old Spanish fortifications.


Enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, or fishing, or simply relax on the beach. Wander the village before returning to Panama City for the evening.


Day 7

In the morning, visit a local pineapple farm to learn about the planting, harvesting, and export process. Taste fresh pineapple with a view of the surrounding landscape.


Return to Panama City to visit the Biomuseo, a striking building by Frank Gehry showcasing Panama’s biodiversity.


If time permits, hike Ancon Hill for panoramic city and canal views. Relax at the beach or enjoy free time before a farewell dinner and folkloric show.


Day 8

Transfer to the airport for your return flight home—bringing with you unforgettable memories of Panama's culture, nature, and history.
